In keeping with the theme of catching everyone "up-to-date"...we wanted to post some pictures from when we met our sweet nephew, Ayan Price Hamilton, for the first time this past January.
Steph and Aaron (Lin's sis' and bro-in-law) started the international adoption process more than a yr. and a half ago. After tons of paperwork, bloodwork, notaries, background checks, homestudies, passports, signatures, plane tickets, switched dates/times, etc....Steph and Aaron FINALLY brought home their sweet baby boy from Kazhakstan 2 days before his 1st birthday @ the end of Jan. 2008. Besides the 3 of us and Mom/Dad, there were many friends from their work and church who showed up to greet them @ the Dallas airport that evening. With brightly colored posters and banners in hand, we all shared some great fellowship (while waiting for them to get through customs), a lot of pictures, and even a few tears.
All of our extended family members made their way to TX in the 2 days following his arrival home, and we all enjoyed sharing in his 1st birthday party @ their church that Saturday. He definitely got understandably overstimulated many times throughout the wknd., but he has been adjusting beautifully ever since!
He turned 1 yr. old on Jan. 29th (3 days after Uncle Patrick's b-day on Jan. 26th, 2 days before Aunt Lindsey's b-day on Jan. 31st, and 4 days before Pops b-day on Feb. 2nd). The Lord's perfect plan in his adoption had us all amazed at the way He worked out the tiny details of it all. Not only is his b-day so close to all of ours, but he is officially only 19 days older than Kennedy. WHO ELSE could design two 1st cousins from 2 diff. countries to be born only 19 days apart. And come to find out...Ayan was moved from the hospital in Kaz to his "baby house" (orphanage) where he lived for 10 1/2 mos. b/f meeting his new parents...THE DAY that I went into labor w/ Kennedy (the day b/f she was actually born)! WOW!
