Labor Day weekend

Labor Day wknd. is always a very anticipated wknd. in our family due to 2 reasons...

1.) An uninterrupted, extended wknd. in Branson w/ ALL of my Mom's side of the family

and...

2.) The first Razorback football game of the season

Now, if these 2 things could QUIT coinciding...that would be WONDERFUL! However, we'll deal I guess. It sure makes for an insanely busy wknd. while trying to attend both though.
We relaxed @ the condo., played w/ the kids until late every night, drove back home w/ the uncles/cousins for the Razorback game (where we saw our brother-in-law on P's side and niece getting to celebrate her 8th birthday @ the game), cooked meals together (for all 20 of us), spent an afternoon @ White Water w/ the cousins and our (big) kids, did a little shopping @ the outlets, and enjoyed each others' company immensely! We're so blessed to be surrounded by such fun, CRAZY family members who we simply LOVE spending time with. And I'm so thankful for my Nana and Grandad who continue to lead our family w/ such sacrificial love and dedication. I love them very, very much and they are the ones who make Branson possible. Thanks to my sweet Momma (Gammi) and Aunts also for their sweet care of all of the kiddos @ a couple different points in the wknd. Kennedy and Ayan had a fantastic time playing together the entire wknd. and hardly even fought. And Will had such a fun wknd. as well being spoiled rotten w/ attention for sure!

The end of our Summer

Our family MUCH enjoyed our Summer together and especially enjoyed the extra time with Patrick/Daddy (who had a little more free time on his hands than during the school year obviously)! I'm a little sad that it's over, but I do LOVE Autumn SO much! I'm mostly just bummed @ the realization that another change of season means that my babies are that much bigger!

So......GOODBYE to the swimming pool play dates, shorts and flip-flops (or at least not for a little bit longer thankfully), spontaneous daddy/daughter fishing trips @ dusk, yummy sno cones runs after dinner (sad day), running around outside barefoot, slip 'n slide races w/ the kids, grilling out almost every night, and the endless streams of sweat that pour down the body every single time you get into your extremely hot parked car (praise the Lord)!!!
But......HELLO to pumpkin spice soap, changing leaves, mochaccino and sugar cookies candles, waking up to ESPN's Game Day every Sat. morning (Woo hooooooo!), hot chocolate, Razorback football, and blue jeans!!! I LOVE IT!

Here's what the end of our Summer brought:

* Another REALLY fun (and HOT) visit to Silver Dollar City in Branson w/ Patrick's family (and cousin in town from So. Carolina)

* A NWA Naturals baseball game w/ Patrick's family on a beautiful evening

* A swim play date w/ close friends from church

* A church block party/community outreach on a local elementary school lawn in preparation for VBS (coordinated by our Hispanic mission pastor @ FLBC - and also thanks to Patrick and many of our college students to help make it happen)

* Vacation Bible School 2010 (The Plagues of Egypt...which turned out awesome)

* Presenting the VBS closing program (music) @ church = Kennedy (and her friends) getting to sing in front of the church

* Enjoying a lazy day w/ my beautiful MO friend in town w/ her 3 munchkins

* Hosting a 'nursery rhyme' themed baby shower for one of my closest friends, Meghan (anxiously awaiting the arrival of Dax in Oct.)

* Attending a 1st birthday party for a sweet little friend (daughter of some of our friends from Ft. Smith, Nick and Lindsey Kennedy)
