The 3 of us left the day after the wedding with Patrick's entire family to drive the 18 hrs. to go visit his Grandma & aunts/uncle/cousins in Marion, SC. Kennedy did perfect on the drive there & back sleeping through the night in the car both times. We were so thankful that the Lord provided such traveling grace for us all as everyone was so sleepy driving & all. He allowed us to even make it in fabulous time on the way out there that Sun. Due to not being able to go last summer & normally only being able to travel & visit every OTHER summer...it had been 3 yrs. since we had been able to see P's Dad's side of the family. Grandma Pulley got to meet Kennedy face-to-face for the first time, as did the rest of the family as well.
Thanks to Aunt Nancy & Uncle Larry who gave up their entire 3 bedroom house for us & his 2 sisters/brother-in-laws/nieces to stay in all wk. P's parents enjoyed spending some extra time w/ Grandma by staying w/ her @ her house.
We basically hung around the house most days/evenings playing cards, watching movies, eating great food, playing board games, watching the girls play w/ their distant cousins, etc. However, one day we traveled the short 45 miles or so from Grandma's to Myrtle Beach state park. It was a beautiful day to spend together w/ just his immediate family & we couldn't have asked for better weather. Kennedy thoroughly enjoyed her first beach experience...which is a good thing since she'll be going to spend a wk. in FL in a couple of weeks. The texture of the sand wasn't even an issue, except for the fact that it made it difficult for her to walk on. And she LOVED going out w/ us in the waves. Don't worry, she was safe & never even left our arms while in the waves. Playing in the sand right @ the water line might be her new favorite pastime! Here are some pictures from our wk.
It was really hard to leave w/ Grandma crying, but we can't wait to go back already!
