Forgotten 4th of July post

Our 4th of July was busy like always w/ a full Friday and Saturday in Fort Smith. We spent Fri. afternoon and evening @ Nana & Grandad's w/ Mom's side of the family. We grilled hamburgers and enjoyed some delicious peach homemade ice cream! We also took some fun family pics out on the farm that evening after dinner and Kennedy got to see Grandad's cows again which she always looks forward to!

We went swimming @ Uncle Ken & Aunt Kathy's home Sat. morning w/ all of the cousins b/f cleaning up and heading out to the annual Hobbs' family 4th celebration (Dad's side of the family). It's always held @ my Aunt Jeannie (Dad's sister) & Uncle Woody's farm in Booneville and we love getting together w/ our rather LARGE family each & every year! There is always fabulous food, classic homemade ice cream recipes, competitive games of volleyball, and LOTS of BIG fireworks! Our immediate family usually enjoy the fireworks from a distance ever since Kennedy & Ayan (nephew) were born and at least until they're at the age to get near the "danger zone" out in the field to shoot them off themselves. But we've certainly enjoyed many years of shooting them off in the past while growing up! We now resort to lots of fun on the trampoline and swing set, and some sparklers and snap pops as well w/ the kids! Will wasn't phased by the fireworks @ all & definitely slept through a lot of it of course. He was very content the whole evening to simply be passed from family member to family member. What a great night!
