Our big THREE year old!

* I still can't believe that those words have been coming out of my mouth! And we've even had a month to let it sink in now too! Kennedy's big b-day in Feb. was a lot of fun w/ family from all sides. We celebrated her and Ayan's (our nephew's) b-day the first wknd. of Feb. @ my folks' house in BA...Mickey & Minnie style! We've started making it an annual birthday celebration tradition since their birthdays are only 19 days apart to celebrate together. Therefore, all of our extended family from my Mom's side of the family traveled to Tulsa for one full Sat. of partying it up! A couple of the special gifts she received included a wonderful, wooden, hand-painted (thanks Steph!) high chair for her baby dolls. And, along w/ the high chair was the baby cradle that I played w/ as a child - also hand painted by Aunt Stephy. : ) Gammi and Pops knew how much she would just love them...and boy does she ever!!! It was all a surprise to me, and it meant a lot. Plus, it allowed Kennedy and Ayan to play "house" for the rest of the wknd. together - which they loved!

Our entire extended family being together and it was certainly a fun Sat. @ Mom/Dad's. The kids had a big time as you can imagine! And, we were also given the chance to celebrate several other family members' birthdays while we were together which was great too (Patrick's/mine/Dad's/Nana's). There is NOTHING like having a cupcake cake for the kids' birthdays AND a delicious cookie cake for the adults! What a treat! After a huge family dinner out Sat. night b/f the family left town, my immediate family were all able to go to our home church Sun. morning w/ Mom and Dad. It was the first time to have all 4 of their grandkids w/ them @ church in a long time, so we were happy to make that happen again. Great wknd.!

(You can certainly laugh @ our "attempt" of getting a new, creative, decent picture of all of the kids... We were certainly laughing while the chaos was occurring too. : ) Lyla isn't mobile yet which was great, Kennedy just stayed posed randomly, Will just kept crawling off, and Ayan repeatedly hopped up and down. Boys will be boys I guess!)

* On Kennedy's actual birthday, we started out the day by fixing her favorite breakfast items (scrambled eggs, toast, and craisins) for her and Momma to enjoy together. She loves every, single phone call that she received on her special day. And she had NO problem talking to each person for a while! She even asked her Papa (who didn't start the phone conversation by singing 'Happy Birthday' to her) to "please sing me the Happy Birthday song". Ha, ha!

* The wknd. after K's birthday held another celebration for our lil' lady! We celebrated w/ Patrick's family, as well as some family-friends, and a few members of my family. When we asked Kennedy what she wanted to do for her birthday this year...(not technically expecting a response)...she said, "I want to go bowling!" Random, I know. However, she IS around college students all the time - I might remind you. So...bowling it was! Cheapest thing she could have asked for honestly, praise the Lord! : ) We all had fun seeing one another, getting a chance to bowl together, and Kennedy seemed to thoroughly enjoy herself - which made it ALL worth it! She always loves spending time w/ our nieces (her cousins), but also loved getting to spend the time w/ her good friend Bella (who I used to watch out of my home) also. They were connected @ the hip the whole time and loved every minute of it! Thank you to all who came... We love our sweet, sweet family members who constantly challenge and encourage Kennedy in all she does.

We're certainly NOT loving how fast she is growing up. But, we do LOVE watching her grow. Many joke that she came out of the womb talking, and it seems true @ times b/c of how long she's been having full conversations w/ friends and family. She loves the college students more than words can express and cherishes each and every time they're over @ our house. Kennedy is a HUGE singer, memorizes songs in a flash, and has wonderful pitch. It's actually our favorite thing to do together! She loves learning...anything really. She's knows her alphabet, she's learning the sounds that the letters make, she can count to 30 & wants to learn to count even higher already. She's very independent (when it comes to dressing herself/brushing her teeth/etc.) - yet very dependent on Momma & Daddy sometimes @ the same time...if that makes sense. She certainly enjoys her bedtime routine, and is sometimes borderline OCD a/b it all. No joke. She inhales all fruit and eats so many vegetables (esp. raw these days). Kennedy also has not changed a bit in her risk-taking @ all either. She never has been my big "dare devil", but I'm honestly okay w/ that w/ lil' man around now. : ) She checks w/ us b/f attempting things, hesitates b/f doing anything new, and even gets scared often. We just always try to push her to try those new things and conquer her fear, but it's a constant issue. She still can't stand anything w/ a mask or costume on. Lil' Miss is quite the helper around the house & w/ anything Bubba needs done esp. He truly admires everything a/b her I believe and lights up every, single time she enters the room. She has a fabulous sense of humor these days. Kennedy loves to say "grown up" phrases and we still find her repeating a lot of phrases that she's heard recently. She certainly shares her love of reading and books w/ her Daddy. I'm beginning to think that she feels naked when I don't put a bow in her hair. But thankfully still cooperates each day as I fix her hair and every couple of days when I wash and dry it. She loves to teach Will new things and is thrilled when he shares her excitement. She continues to "talk on her phone", "work on her laptop", and "cook her meals" @ her lil' kitchen daily. And boy is she a fantastic Momma' to her babies! ...except when she occasionally gets distracted and drops them on their head. : ) She's just SO nurturing and becomes more and more each day it seems. She likes playing on her swing set out back, seriously enjoys her cereal each day, adores her "Bubba", is such a great friend to her friends, and just loves her family to no end! She is our sunshine and we miss her sweet smile and all of her fun facial expressions anytime we're apart! What a joy! We are so proud to be her Momma and Daddy...

I absolutely love the first picture of Kennedy on this post. She looks so grown up. I would love to have a copy of that picture for my desk at school. :-)
