The craziness we'll call September and October (Part 1)

I still feel like I need to catch my breath from the month of September and October. They passed by @ lightning speed! And I'm sorry for the delay in posting as I've had to focus on many other things recently. It has been a couple of crazy months on campus, and a busy couple months outside of LIFELINE also. However, November might prove to be even crazier ~ oh my!

I'm going to try my best to recap the highlights of the past 2 months...

We celebrated our niece's 8th birthday @ the skating rink in Huntsville the first part of Sept. It was Kennedy's first time to skate, and it's pretty safe to say that she's not the biggest fan of it. : ) Thank goodness they were able to tighten up the skates for the little ones who didn't know how. She still had a lot of fun w/ our nieces and the other kids @ the party though! We were even allowed to bring strollers on the skating rink and wheel lil' man around while we skated. Too fun! He was pretty wide-eyed, but loved it!
We even got to meet some friends' (who are more like family) newborn, sweet Reagan. She was born several weeks early, so she was still SO tiny!







We also got to celebrate w/ my sis-in-law (and bro-in-law/nieces) on her b-day wknd. and watch the Razorback away game all together. Don't you just cherish those "low key" types of days when you're able to kick off your shoes and fully relax w/ your family?! I do! Will was pretty funny the whole day as he just kept pulling around this puppy toy. He would pull it...it would fall over...he would place it back upright... And then he would repeat the process over and over again. It was too sweet to see his determination. And he now has one @ home too. : )







The Lord also brought a beautiful, special lady back to the states for a visit. Yoojeong was an international student @ the U of A who has made a lifelong impression in our lives. She was invited to Lifeline (our MBSF mid-wk. Bible study) on campus and became instantly involved. But most importantly, Yoojeong accepted Jesus Christ into her heart as her personal Lord and Savior soon b/f she had to return to South Korea. To all of my prayer warrior friends/family who read this...please continue to cover this beautiful young lady in prayer as she is in Korea - defending her faith on a daily basis. She has one of the most pure hearts I've ever been around, and she is quite the joy to our family. Kennedy esp. loved her one-on-one time w/ her and loved having her back in AR as well.
Yoojeong was able to spend a couple of weeks in the states traveling around visiting friends. And we had some get-togethers while she was in town so we (and the students) could spend as much quality time as possible w/ her. She is such a blessing to us and we miss her very much!





Mom and Dad (Gammi and Pops) came to spend the wknd. of the Arkansas vs. Alabama game w/ us. We spent some great time outdoors playing w/ Gammi's bubble gun that the kids love. We also went to the big Arkansas pep rally on campus the Fri. night b/f the big game (vs. the #1 team in the nation @ the time), and even strolled along Stadium Drive to see the hype that surrounded the hundreds of students that had been camping out outside of the stadium all wk. b/f the huge game. It was INSANE and we loved every minute of it!
Mom and Dad esp. loved getting to experience Fayetteville on the day b/f such a game as #1 vs. #10. It definitely brought back a LOT of memories for both of them I believe. : ) There was lots of music blaring, free food being passed out from the Razorback football team and basketball team (and coaches), a pep band from the Razorback band playing the fight song/etc. to hype up the crowd even more, decorated cars/trucks passing by that were honking the entire time, and tents/camping chairs galore!!! So many of our students who had been camping out as well were having the time of their lives that night they said! It was definitely fun seeing them in that setting too.
On Saturday, the whole extended family had a blast tailgating on campus hours b/f the game and being there when the team entered the stadium. Kennedy and Will could NOT have been more excited! It was such a joy to see the excitement on their faces! Kennedy was just giddy being around all of the family, loved listening to the Razorback Marching Band pep up the crowd over @ the Trough tailgating area where we ate, and as long as the mascot didn't get TOO close to her...she enjoyed watching everything that the mascot did. Haha. She certainly hasn't gotten over her fear of things in costumes and/or masks needless to say. : ) And Will just loved being outside running around, seeing the mascots and the band up close, watching football on the big screens set up, and getting to watch all of the planes flying banners around and of course the GoodYear blimp! Lil' man even got his picture taken w/ some of the Razorback cheerleaders ~ which made for a pretty funny, pitiful picture. He was a little overwhelmed w/ all of the strangers holding him, squeezing him, and talking to him. Someone please remind us in 15 yrs. of this picture. I know I'll definitely appreciate it then. Haha!
PLUS...our family got on National television during the CBS pre-game show! Will was FRONT AND CENTER! What a stinkin' FUN day!!! (We all posed w/ many a family member and/or friend that day which equals LOTS of pictures!)

We always love those weekends, and love football season SO much more b/c it gives us a beautiful reason to see family. They are truly some of our very best friends.
