Meeting Santa

We take Kennedy to see Santa each Christmas, but it is certainly called an "attempt" @ this age usually. Our trip went MUCH smoother than I had imagined, but only b/c Mama was right there the entire time to make the meeting a little easier. Otherwise...it would have been JUST like a lot of our friends' kids' Santa photos!
I don't really blame them though...can you? Most Santas aren't exactly the most friendly or approachable men in the world! And, it's a guy who they haven't heard THAT much a/b...in a giant red costume...w/ funny hair and beard. Mom said I screamed @ this age and for several yrs. after around Santa actually.
Plus, it's very hard to let them know who Santa is & understand it all. However, not put TOO much emphasis on the big guy @ the same time. We CERTAINLY want Kennedy to know and understand more a/b baby Jesus during this important holiday season. I think we accomplished this for this yr. thankfully!
We must have visited the greatest Santa in NWA, b/c ours waved @ Kennedy from really far away b/f we even approached him. Mom was in town for my big ultrasound this past Friday, so we decided to make the attempt together after the appt. Kennedy waved back immed. and even blew him kisses. Then, she certainly cried @ just the thought of approaching him or sitting on his lap. The beginning was full of tears, but headed up from there. She warmed up nicely while sitting on Mama's lap (next to Santa). She even told him her name (or as she says it, "Kee-kee") @ one point when he asked. She wouldn't ever sit on his lap, but would cooperate for a picture or two. I was FINE w/ that!
Kennedy REALLY enjoyed the sucker that Santa gave her after their visit, and you can see the messy enjoyment she received from that! : ) Gammi even let her ride one of the ride-on trucks in the food court b/f we left. It was defin. successful in my opinion, and she certainly thought more a/b her meeting w/ Santa after we left, than while we were even there. She waved "bye" to him and then said he was "nice" ("Santa nice") once we got into the car to leave.
I obviously don't have the official printed photo that they give you on here (unless P can scan it for me), but here are some that Mom shot w/ our own camera. Merry Christmas!
