MBSF 'End of the year' cookout

While I'm running w/ the theme of catching everyone up on our last few weeks..

The Thursday b/f last, we held our big 'end of the year' cookout for our college group. Due to all of the rain we had received that wk. as well as that specific day, Patrick moved the location to a covered pavilion @ a park close to campus. Not only were all of our students invited to attend and encouraged to bring friends, but several members from our church here in Springdale were invited as well (being the sponsoring church and all). We have a ministry called 'Home Away From Home' families @ First Landmark MBC where Patrick and I match 1-2 students w/ a faithful family in our church. They serve as their "adopted" family for the entire school yr. while they're attending school and away from their real families week after week. Thanks to our H.A.F.H. families for helping provide the food @ the cookout! Also thanks to Steven for making the delicious brisket, and a big thanks to our friends Hutch and Derek for spending their entire Thurs. smoking meat (pork tenderloin, ribs, chicken)! It was all MORE than perfect and everyone thoroughly enjoyed every bite (especially all of the students)!

The rain held off all night and allowed us to play several hilariously fun games. Everyone took lots of 'last chance' pictures w/ our international student who will be returning home this summer as well as w/ our only graduating Senior leaving us.

The entire evening was so much fun and Kennedy got filthy-dirty! She certainly proved how wonderful she does being potty-trained out in public places and social situations once again that night. It's been almost a month now since she's been in "big girl panties", and she even uses the potty in dirty park bathrooms like the night of the cookout. She remained dry the entire night and didn't even fight taking visits to the potty several times throughout our time there! Way to go K!

Yay Kennedy!! Such a big girl! You're my inspiration to have Ava potty trained at an early age too! :) Hope you are feeling well during these last few days! We're praying for all of you and can't wait to hear the news of the little man's arrival!!!
