We were recently blessed w/ some fun gifts for baby boy by our MBSF students. Two wonderful women from our church volunteered to host the shower for the MBSF group @ one of their homes & they certainly went above and beyond (as usual). They help provide food each and every Thurs. @ MBSF on campus...which is SUCH a big undertaking as it is! So, this was MORE than gracious that they offered to host this as well.
It fell on a crazy Fri. night as there were massive thunderstorms and tornado warnings all around NWA. There was even specific circulation located right above us as we drove to the house for the shower. But despite the storms, we still had several of our students come and show their amazing support and love for this sweet boy set to arrive VERY soon! And for those who couldn't make it due to the weather or whatever reason...we certainly understood and didn't blame them one bit. We were also very excited to have a few of our family members w/ us @ the get-together as well. Thanks for braving the storms ladies!
The ladies (as well as one of our students) provided fantastic finger foods for dinner that evening since it was a 6:30 pm shower time, and treated us to some delicious homemade carrot cake cupcakes. It was such a creative 'Peter Rabbit' theme from the rabbits on the table right down to the fondant basket weave (patterned) cupcakes w/ fondant carrot on top of each. Very yummy and I personally loved how everything was tied together so perfectly.
Overall, the evening was absolutely a blast and so laid back (like we desired)! We received some wonderful gifts for "Baby Bubba" (as K calls him), and Lil' Miss had a fun time helping us w/ each present. It was an awesome evening to spend some more quality time w/ several of our students b/f the semester came to an end!
Thank you to ALL who were involved! Especially to those 2 dear friends of ours who hosted it all...you are both greatly appreciated!
